DEADLIEST CATCH LEADS DISCOVERY’S PRIMETIME EMMY NOMINATIONS WITH FOUR NODS INCLUDING OUTSTANDING NONFICTION SERIES

(Silver Spring, Md.) – Reeling in both viewers and critics, DEADLIEST CATCH has once again been recognized by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, earning Primetime Emmy® nominations in four different categories.  Overall, Discovery Communications, the leader in nonfiction content, garnered a total of eight nominations for Discovery Channel (7) and Animal Planet (1) when the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced today.

Discovery Channel’s DEADLIEST CATCH, which captures the dangers, adventures and disasters of a fleet of crab-fishing boats on the icy Bering Sea, led the network in Primetime Emmy nominations in the following categories: Outstanding Nonfiction Series; Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming; Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming; and Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming.
